Prodigy Rank and Looting System Ranks
Rank 1-- Guild Master (Voting)
Rank 2--Officer (Voting)
The GM and Officers are leaders and decision makers for the guild. They plan guild events, present a common direction for the guild, provide an excellent website, lead raids, develop takedown strategies, assess/recruit new members, settle disputes, etc. The GM and Officers demonstrate a high level of skill at the classes they play and posses a strong commitment to the guild. The long-term interest of the GM and Officers is to promote progression through endgame content and make Prodigy an enjoyable environment.
Rank 3-- Class Captain (Non-voting)
Class captains are very knowledgeable about their class and work with the people of said class to achieve their class goals. Class Captains provide advice to other members of the class and often assign duties during raids. Class Captains are leaders within the guild and actively participate in guild management.
Rank 4-- Veteran (Non-voting)
Veterans are distinguished members of the guild who have contributed and continue to contribute in several ways. Veterans: Show up regularly to raids, Actively upgrade their gear, Help the guild (assisting members on 5-mans, heroics, crafting gear, posting strategies / offering advice / etc.), Never miss monthly turn in (this is very important and monitored by the guild leadership), Set an example for other members by following guild/raid rules, and Demonstrate skill during raids. In addition, some veterans lead raids.
Rank 5-- Member (Non-voting)
Members of Prodigy are newer and/or less geared and should be striving to meet the same goals of the Veteran and achieve the promotion. Members should patiently develop their skill, improve their gear, make friends within the guild, and contribute in any way they can. Members are an important part of raids and their development into significant contributors is vital to our continued success. Contributions of members will be rewarded with promotion.
Rank 6-- Initiate (Non-voting)
Initiates are new to the guild. All persons entering the guild will remain an initiate for 1 month and may not see as much raid time as the above ranks.
Rank 7-- Sammich Bitch (Non-voting, non-raiding, social rank)
This is Prodigy's 'Social Rank' and only privileged players who must know a Prodigy member, or have been in the guild at one time and had left on good terms - may be allowed in. Note that this rank has no safeguards and is very limited in terms of what a member at this rank may or may not do - If a member with the 'Sammich Bitch' title is found in any way to be disrespectful, manipulative, or harmful to Prodigy's image, they will be removed from the guild with NO QUESTIONS ASKED, remember that this rank is for people who aren't in Prodigy as raiders, and as such the rules apply to them twice as much.
This rank also has three more restrictions:
1.) Any member at the 'Sammich bitch' Rank may have ONE (1) character in Prodigy, no exceptions.
2.) Members who are invited as 'Sammich Bitch' will have very limited access on the guild website, only being able to view the Public forums, class forums, and our general forum.
3.) In no way will a member with the 'Sammich Bitch' take priority over a member of Prodigy.
How the Ranks Work
--At the end of each month the GM / Officers will review persons in the guild. If members contribute, show up for raids, (or explain why they can't) and help out, they are promoted to Veteran. The same works in reverse. If one doesn't contribute, raid, help, etc. they can be demoted. We are constantly moving people through our system so that the guild as a whole remains dedicated to progression and fun. If a member goes inactive or does not contribute for too long a time, that person will be demoted through the ranks and eventually removed. Previous members are always welcome to reapply, particularly those who raided consistently with us, if they become interested in raiding again. People who are dedicated, skilled, and friendly will constantly move up in loot priority while those who do not contribute will move down and eventually out. This system makes the guild easier to manage, keeping us lean and mean.
--The GM, Officers, and Vets all have the same looting privileges. Ranks 1 - 3 will have the opportunity to roll on loot before members and initiates. This is not to say that members and initiates will not get a chance at loot, just that they will not be considered first.
--Rank-based rolling applies to profession recipes. In addition, people who can use the gear created by such recipes will have further priority over those who cannot, especially when the item is an upgrade to primary gear. The same rules apply whether the created item is BOP or BOE.
--If no one rolls on the gear for a main spec, the roll passes to offspec—veteran, member, then initiate. If the gear is still not taken, Alts can open roll.
--Ranks 1 - 3 will also be considered first for open raid slots. Obviously the class / spec the person plays will be a factor in determining the raid make-up, but if we have 6 mages on and 1 is an officer, 3 are vets, 1 a member and 1 an initiate the officers and vets will be offered the raid spot first. A newer member will occasionally be taken in place of an older one so that we can evaluate them and familiarize them with our strategies. As a general rule, people who are raiding most will get invites first and we will try to rotate people in as fairly as possible.
Details on Promotions and Demotions
Initiate to Member—Ranks are adjusted at the end of every month. As a result, you may not be up for a promotion until a second cycle if you do not join in the first week of the month. Assuming that you have been in the guild for a month, you have to have attended or be available for 10 raids in a one month period and completed your guild turn in.
Member to Veteran—Attend or be available for 15 raids over the course of your month as a member and complete your guild turn in. Attitude is always a consideration here and officers reserve the right to deny members veteran status for poor behavior. For example, ninja logging in middle of a raid where we are whipping and then getting spotted on an alt is an excellent way to show you don’t deserve veteran status.
Demotions—Simply put, demotions work in reverse with some exceptions designed to allow for real world reasons for missing raid time. You must put in the same number of raid days required to achieve the rank in order to maintain it. This is true even if you have been a veteran for six months. If you know that you are going to be out of town, contact an officer and BRIEFLY explain the situation. We don’t need to know the whole story. Tell us how long you’re going to be out of game, and that time will not count against you in terms of demotion. Please note that this is an exception for demotions only, and will not aid in promotion. Secondly, it is possible to be a day or two light on raid time but turn in an exceptional amount to the guild bank in order to avoid demotion. The amount is intentionally not specified as we want you to be scared that you might not be doing enough to keep your rank.
If you disagree with what rank you are at, please get in touch with one of the officers. We promise to review the situation and hear you out in full. We do not promise to agree with you.
Turn In Once a month, send an in game mail to Gooter with either 40 gold attached if you are a member or 80 gold if you are a veteran. This is subject to change as content of the game changes.
